About The Foundation
Free Food Foundation ™ was founded by Mr. Vishrut Parekh with the sole intention of feeding free food to the needy.
It does not function like a traditional NGO or a Public Trust.
And at the same time, it is definitely NOT A Business Venture and “DOES NOT WORK TOWARDS THE OBJECTIVE OF MAKING ANY PROFIT.”
Free Food Foundation ™ functions solely through voluntary financial contributions and volunteers.
All the available resources and finances are wholly and fully used towards arranging food, distribution of food and functioning of the foundation. WE DO NOT PAY ANY SALARY or COMMISSION to anyone!
Free Food Foundation ™ works as an intermediary between the contributors who wish to feed food to the needy and the needy who cannot afford to buy enough food for themselves.
: OUR SIMPLE OBJECTIVE :
“TO PROVIDE FREE FOOD TO THE NEEDY AND POOR”
WHY?
- India is Known as the “WORLD HUNGER CAPITAL”!*
- Hunger remains the number ONE cause of death in India!*
- ONE IN EVERY SIX people remain hungry!*
- Hunger problem is not limited to rural areas but equally affects the urban areas too.*
- Research shows that about 19.5 crore people sleep hungry every night!*
- About ONE CRORE people die every year due to chronic hunger and hunger related diseases!*
- ONE IN EVERY FOUR children are under nourished in India!*
- About 3000 children die everyday due to Malnutrition and other Malnutrition related problems!*
AND THE MOST IMPORTANT REASON IS IN OUR MOTTO ITSELF,
“Because No One Deserves An Empty Stomach!” ©
WHAT ARE WE DOING?
“FREE BREAKFAST” (2015 to 2018)
People are the hungriest when they wake up in the morning.
Also, the most important meal of the day is said to be The Breakfast.
And, we believe that NO ONE DESERVES to experience insecurity about getting food or having to scout for food at that early hour of the day.
It is saddening!
And hence, the first programme that we launched was “FREE BREAKFAST”
There were many NGO’s, social clubs and organisations that provide lunch and dinner to needy. And many of them also provide breakfast on weekends.
But, at that point of time, nobody that we knew provided FREE BREAKFAST on weekdays!!
And hence,
We started providing Free and Fresh Breakfast during early morning hours on “weekdays” from year 2015 onwards.
We used to start the distribution at approximately 7.30 a.m. and keep distributing until we run out of food for the day.
Eventually, many other social service clubs have also started organising breakfast distribution sessions on weekdays.
“FREE RICEGRAIN DISTRIBUTION” (2018 to ongoing)
Approximately, 200 to 400 kilograms rice grains are distributed from time to time at various slum locations.
“FREE FOOD KIT” (2021 to ongoing)
We find orphanages, old age homes, medical centers, tribal villages and other such places where there is a dire need of even the basic food supplies. For such places, we arrange free food kits containing Rice, Dal, other pulses and lentils, oil, sugar, tea powder, soap, salt, turmeric, other spices, Jaggery, Poha (rice flakes), sabudana, wheat flour, etc. in each kit and distribute such food kits to the needy.

About The Team
We do not have a fixed number of people working with us because we avoid hiring people on a fixed salary. We avoid that because our financial planning and spending decisions are governed by one basic motto :-
“Every Penny Saved is Food in Someones Stomach!”
And hence, our entire team is made up of Volunteers. 🙂
We categorize our Team in two basic parts:
1) The Core
2) The Supporters
THE CORE TEAM
Since the time the foundation was started by Mr. Vishrut Parekh, some members have been constantly and consistently supporting the foundation and hence they together form the core team of Free Food Foundation ™. This team plays various roles in the organization based on the need of the hour and in the overall execution of the food distribution sessions.
THE SUPPORTERS
Apart from the core team, many people have come forward to help & support this noble cause in different ways.
People from various Castes, Communities, Financial backgrounds, Career backgrounds, Educational backgrounds and Geographical locations have supported us and have become an inseparable part of the Free Food Foundation ™ Journey and Progress.
Some supported financially, Some gave us their time, Some shared their expertise and resources, Some people helped us physically in managing the logistics and some motivated us with their kind words and moral support.
Immaterial of “how” or “how much” each person helped, we consider each one of them as a part of Free Food Foundation ™.
And hence, we can boast of an amazing team that an organisation can dream of having! 🙂
